Cat Littler: Litter Cleaning For Cats

Cat Littler: Litter Cleaning For Cats

It is important for cat lovers. Everyone, kids and adults alike have a natural fondness for cats.  They are loving, quiet, and very playful pets that can provide you with years of # comfort.  Although most of us have a fondness for cats, that fondness can rapidly diminish when it comes to the litter box.  Even the most hardened cat lover may get tired of litter box duty, especially when it comes down to scooping “you know what” from the litter box.

Cats are very intelligent, instinctively knowing how they should use the litter box.  After the cat has finished using the litter box, someone in the family will need to scoop the waste from the litter box.  This can be a very dirty and somewhat smelly job, one that is often overlooked during the day when the workload gets heavy. Cleaning up the litter box doesn’t take but a few minutes, although most would prefer not to do it at all.  Although the litter box will need to be scooped out daily, it will also need to be changed once a week as well, by throwing the current bag out and replacing the box with a new bag and fresh litter.

Those who don’t like to scoop out the litter box should invest in one of the best inventions ever – the self cleaning litter box.  These litter boxes are easy to use, and will keep the area clean.  After the cat has used it, the self cleaning litter box will automatically clean the litter either by sifting or using a device that resembles a rake.

Self cleaning boxes that use shifting will often times have a round design.  Once the cat leaves the covered box, the dome on top will revolve for the box to clean.  The litter in the box will be shifted with the waste being put below the litter where it is discarded.  Once the waste is properly disposed of, the litter will be returned to its normal position in the box for the cat to use again.

Boxes that have raking systems will often times sport a rectangular design.  after a cat leaves the box, the rake will automatically come out and clean the litter.  The rake will clean all of the litter in the box, including the clumps of waste as well.  Rakes are popular, although the shifting litter boxes are by far more popular and more common.

Those who are often times away from home could greatly benefit from a self cleaning litter box.  They are great to have for cats that spend a lot of time by themselves, as they virtually eliminate any scooping of litter on your part.  You can find them at your local pet or department store, even online as well.  They are very affordable – and ideal for anyone who doesn’t like scooping waste from their litter box.

Tips For Introducing Cats

When you decide to add a new cat to your home, it’s normally more easier to accept for you and your family than it is for the cat you already own.  Although most cats are solitary by nature, most will also come to accept or eventually tolerate any additions.  Cats can be very territorial, which is why you should always be careful when you introduce a new cat to your current cat.

If you are introducing kittens to one another, the entire introduction process can be short, lasting as little as 10 – 15 days.  Introducing cats to each other all depends on their temperament and their personality.  When you introduce a new cat to your current cat, you should always make sure that you give your current cat plenty of love and attention.  This way, your cat will feel secure and know that he isn’t in competition with your new cat for affection.

When you bring your new cat home, you should let him stay in a safe room until you have finished introducing the cats.  Your safe room can be any small room in your home, such as a bathroom or spare bedroom.   The key here is to use a room that your current cat doesn’t go in.  In the room, you should leave your new cat a scratching post, bed, water dish, litter box, and food dish.

At first, your current cat may howl and hiss when he stands at the door, trying to tell the other cat that he doesn’t belong.  When this happens you should ignore it, as punishing your cat for his behavior will only lead to more problems.  After a while, the first cat will start to act calm when he is near the new cat’s door.  As he starts to act calm, you should pet him and give him praise.

When your first cat starts to go by your new cat’s door and doesn’t howl or hiss; you can start introducing them to each other.  The best way to do this is to get them used to each others scent.  You can start letting them eat out of the same food dish, although you’ll want to feed them at different intervals at first.  This way, the scent of each cat will be present at the food dish, and each cat will get the scent when he eats his food.

Once both cats have got used to the scent, you can begin to feed them closer together.  To do this, you should keep your new cat in the safe room with the door closed, and your first cat on the other side of the door with his food dish.  This time, feed both cats at the same time.  After doing this a few times, they should start eating without any hissing or growling.  At this point, they are ready to be introduced to one another.

When you introduce them to each other in the same room, a bit of growling and hissing is to be expected.  Although they may be used to each others scent; your first cat will still feel a bit awkward with your new cat being in his territory.  You should play with them both at first, so they can smell one another and greet in their own way. If they start to fight you should break them up, and give them some time apart.

It may take some time to get them fully used to one another, although once they do – they will become playmates for life.  Cats love to be social, although it may be a bit rough at first, especially for your first cat.  Cats can be very territorial, especially if you have a kitten around.  If you get both of them used to each other early on – it will be a lot easier to add future cats to your home.

Common Meanings Of Cat Behavior

Most of us think that cats do something on their own agenda, not paying much attention to their owner – provided they have clean litter, food, and water.  Cats can behave in odd manners at times, which can easily confuse their owners and make it really hard to determine what the cat wants.  but, There are several ways to solve cat behavior secrets

A common behavior that almost all cats do is push their heads into any type of object that will allow them to do it.  You’ve probably seen your cat do this before, probably against table legs, TV stands, or another object.  This can be noticed more when you have other people who own animals or those with allergies over at your house.  When a cat notices this, he will rub his head against the person.  In doing so, he will put a touch of saliva on the individual.  In a cat’s mind, he owns what he puts his saliva on.

By putting his saliva on something, that object or person will have a familiar scent.  Although this can be very annoying, you have to understand that other people in your home are seen as odd or weird to your cat.  When a cat does this, he is simply trying to make the visitor belong.  When he brushes up against them and puts his saliva on them, he is trying to put his scent on them – which in his mind will mean that they belong in his territory.

Even though marking someone or something with saliva is beneficial to the cat, saliva is one of the most common forms of pet allergies.  When someone wipes the saliva off of them, the scent will be gone and the cat will go back and attempt to do it again.  Even though it may appear that cats target those with allergies, cats are actually just trying to make the visitor belong at the house.  If the guest simply cannot take the saliva, allow the cat to rub himself on their pants leg a few times.  Normally, this is all takes for a cat to leave the person alone.

More often if your cat inside the house, you must arrange for a cat so often in the window.  During this time, you may hear your cat make very strange noises or weird movements.  You shouldn’t fear though, as he is simply acting out his hunting instincts.  Whether it’s another cat or object outside moving about, the cat will see it and simply go into his native hunting instinct.

As most already know, cats love to play.  They love to played with, especially with toys.  They will pounce on things on occasion, which should always be expected.  If you try to prevent this type of behavior, your cat will take a very negative approach and you’ll end up with a lot of broken things in your home.  You can always play with your cat using a string, as he will love to chase the string around the room.

The longer you leave your cats alone, the more odd behavior you’ll see him exhibit.  Cats behave in strange ways, although they always have a reason for behaving the way they do.  If you can understand why your cat behaves like he does, you’ll have no problems keeping him healthy and happy.  If you simply pay attention to your cat and the way he behaves at times – you’ll be able to understand him better than ever before.

Premium Choice Flushable Cat Litter

If you have a cat, little question to keep cleaning is a thing you can not avoid. And the odor can be a fixed problem no matter what you do. To this finish, marketers have tried to come up with methods that can make this chore easier. Considered one of these methods is utilizing flushable cat litter. Flushable litter might be handy for owners as a result of instead of having to dispose of clumping or other varieties of litter in waste receptacles, you possibly can simply flush it down the toilet and get rid of odor and mess in a single instant. And certainly, this can be a great comfort for a lot of cat owners.

These litters are often additionally lighter in texture. Typically, the associated fee is roughly the identical as different forms of litters in price per use. They could appear more expensive because of their lighter weight (for example, if regular clumping clay prices 20 cents a pound and the flushing type costs thrice that, this appears to be like more expensive, but you need to bear in mind that it’s going to weigh much less per use and thus can go farther). They can be arduous to find as nicely, but availability of Internet purchasing makes this a relatively minor drawback, since homeowners can have it shipped to them if it isn’t accessible in their area.

However, you need to know that this has its drawbacks as well. One among these is that you simply change contributing to landfill waste with used litter, for water waste and extra sewage. Therefore, it is probably not any extra environmentally sound than merely disposing of used litter in the trash. Its benefit is that as a result of the dirty mess is flushed instantly, there’s usually much much less lingering field odor. As well as, some varieties of litter could be composted once dried stools are removed. This can be the way to have the least environmental affect from your cat’s box.

One different consideration with utilizing flushing versus conventional litter is your cat’s “opinion” of the litter itself. Many cats are so used to the regular texture and really feel of clay that they won’t use the flushing type. In this case, of course, crucial consideration is whether or not your cat will use the field at all. You should maintain careful watch to see for those who cat does or doesn’t like the flushable litter. You could possibly get him or her to make use of it if you started by mixing a small quantity of the flushing litter in along with your cat’s regular litter (without flushing this at first, of course, but disposing within the trash as regular) and progressively rising the quantity of flushable litter and reducing the quantity of the clay till you’re utilizing a hundred% flushable. Even with this kind of “break-in” period, some cats never get used to the flushing sort and will only stay with tried-and-true clumping variety. However, if your cat does like it, it could be a viable various for you.

In short, when you have a cat, your litter box use goes to have at the very least some environmental influence that might be detrimental. Nevertheless, flushable cat litter can give you a much “cleaner” approach to handle waste than different traditional types. As a result of they are often flushed and do not need to be thrown away within the trash, it usually makes for much much less smell and mess than traditional clays do. The choice is yours, and as always, it is best to make the perfect one potential on your lifestyle and preferences. Simply bear in mind your cat will possible have the final say.

cats eat human

Many  humans experience gastrointestinal problems and the most common are IBS  (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). However, this is also very popular with animals especially cats and the symptoms are even the same as what the human experience. This gastrointestinal disorder affects the colon and small intestines which then affects the contraction during digestion which result in bowel that is irregular. It also affects the food and waste in the cat’s body causing the accumulation of mucus and toxins in their intestine.

The toxins that are trapped inside the cat's intestine blocks the normal function of the digestive system. This blockage causes abdominal distention, bloating and unable to defecate because gas and stools are not flushed out.

Surprisingly, the factors that cause IBS in cats are the same with humans. Stress is the main cause cats having IBS. Other factors include longtime use of antibacterial, poor eating habits, infection from Bactria and viruses, allergies with food and presence of parasites in the intestine.

The signs and symptoms of IBS is also the same with humans. The common symptom among cats is constipation. Some cats like to it fresh foods while others like cooked or canned goods.  Keep your cat to stay healthy

Experimenting with the foods given to your cat is very important. Try to keep a journal to write down all the foods that the pet likes and need. With the use of your journal, you can keep tract of the foods that you are giving your cat and the food that causes its IBS. You can also record any food that causes an allergy to your cat. how to make smart cat

Recomended to Read
In that bacterial infections may accompany other lower urinary tract problems (FLUTD), such as urine crystals or uroliths (bladder stones).
A great deal of research has been on-going as to the relationship of diet to urinary tract health, and the thinking has changed over a period of just a few years. Originally it was thought that diets high in magnesium and ash contributed to the problem; now more emphasis is being placed on the pH of urine (acidic or alkaline). (Veterinarians recommend a range between 6.0 and 6.5)
Unfortunately, special diets which prevent the formation of one kind of crystal can actually cause the other, so I don't recommend a special diet for a one year old cat with no symptoms, unless your veterinarian prescribes one.
Generally, a good quality commercial food should be fine for your cat. I would recommend avoiding fish flavored foods, which are said to be suspect in crystal formation. I would also recommend that you supplement your cat's dry food diet with a small amount of canned food each day, also avoiding the fish flavors, with the eventual goal of getting him on a mostly- or wholly-canned food diet. Make sure your cat always has plenty of fresh, clean water, and avoid feeding him table scraps. Watch carefully for any signs of distress, such as straining to urinate or missing the litterbox. keep your cat to stay healthy and smart.

Cats bonding with humans

There are a lot of specialist out there who say that cats are solely independent animals.  These very same experts state that cats have chosen to associate with humans due to their strategy of viability.  Although many argue with this statement, there are many who agree as well – although those that agree are normally those in the percentile who don’t agree with cats.

every body who has owned a cat will tell you that cats are great at bonding with people, although they are very particular.  Normally, a cat will choose someone in the home that he bonds with.  You’ll know when a cat wants to bond with you, as he will hop on your lap seeking attention or snuggle up to you at night when you are sleeping.  Purring is a strong sign of affections, especially with cats that are looking to bond.

Although many experts have tried to figure it out, no one really knows why cats choose a particular person whom they will bond with.  It could be the individual’s manners, voice, or simply how that person treats the cat.  Perhaps it may be the individual is really gentle, or maybe a little more forceful – bringing the best out in the cat.

There are a lot of ways that researchers have tried to take this subject, one of which being psychic.  Some say that cats bond with someone due to a “psychic aura” that is compatible with both the person and the cat.  If a cat feels that someone is giving them a bad vibe, they will simply ignore that person.  Although this can be true to a sense for some, a majority of those who own cats will tell you that this couldn’t be any further from the truth.

Even though there are a lot of theories and speculation out there, no one really knows why cats bond with humans.  There’s little to no proof available as well, other than cats and their natural instinct for physical survival.  Those who own cats know that cats crave attention, simply to make them feel needed.  They love to be pampered by their owners, and will shower you with attention and affection if you just give them the chance.

Those who are new to owning cats may find bonding to be very different.  Cats are different from other animals, including dogs, in the sense that they bond different.  Different breeds of cats will bond different with their owners, although most prefer affection and attention.  The more time you spend around your cat, the more he will bond with you.  Over the years, you’ll find that the bond you create with your pet has grown very strong – and simply cannot be broken.

Cats And Feline Diabetes

Cats are one of the most popular pets in the word.  They are loving pets, capable of providing you years of companionship.  Like other pets, cats can sometimes get sick.  There are several different types of ailments that cats can get, one of which is feline diabetes.  Feline diabetes is a serious disease, although it can be treated by a veterinarian.

Diabetes is more common with humans than with cats or other animals. The cause of diabetes is actually quite simple.  Sugar, or glucose, is found in the blood.  The level of blood sugar in the body or the animal is kept under control by hormone insulin, which the pancreas produces.  When the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin, diabetes is to blame.

The symptoms of feline diabetes will vary.  The most common symptoms include an increase in urine and an increase in thirst.  Other symptoms of feline diabetes include a loss of appetite, weight loss, and a poor coat.  An increase in thirst is easy to detect, as you can easily notice the water dish empty throughout the day.

If you don’t get your cat treated for feline diabetes immediately, the cat will eventually become inactive, vomit on a regular basis, and eventually fall into a coma.  On the other hand, if you get the diabetes treated in time, the cat will more than likely lead a normal and healthy life.  Keep in mind that treatment doesn’t happen overnight – it takes time and dedication.

Cats that have feline diabetes will need to be given food at the same time every day. They should be prevented from going outside as well.  If your cat has diabetes, you’ll need to give him insulin shots once or twice or a day.  Once your veterinarian checks your cat, he will tell you how many shots and how much insulin you need to give your cat.

Before you give your cat his insulin shot, you should always make sure that he has some food first.  If he hasn’t eaten and you give him a shot anyway, he could end up with a hypoglycemic shock.  This can also occur from too much insulin as well.  A hypo can be really dangerous, and should be avoided at all costs.  If your cat gets a hypoglycemic shock and you aren’t around, he may end up dying.

If you have to give insulin shots to your cat due to feline diabetes, you should always keep a watchful eye on him after you have administered the shot.  After your cat has been on insulin for a period of time, your vet may reduce the amount of insulin.  Even though he may have to stay on insulin the rest of his life, he will lead an otherwise healthy life.

THE BASICS NUTRITION OF FELINE

Diet is the way of health. This article lays out some often-ignored principles of cat nutrition and explains why feline have a better chance at optimal health if they are fed a quality canned food diet instead of dry kibble. Putting a little thought into what you feed your feline(s) can pay big dividends over their lifetime and very possibly help them avoid serious, painful and costly expensive.

Cats Need Animal-Based Protein

Cats are obligate (strict) carnivores and are very different from dogs in their nutritional needs. It mean to be an ‘obligate carnivore'? It means that your cat was built by Mother Nature to get her nutritional needs met by the consumption of a large amount of animal-based proteins (meat) and derives much less nutritional support from plant-based proteins (grains). It means that cats lack specific metabolic (enzymatic) pathways and cannot utilize plant proteins as efficiently as animal proteins. It is very important to remember that not all proteins are created equal. The protein in dry food, which is heavily plant-based, is not equal in quality to the protein in canned food, which is meat-based. The protein in dry food is, therefore, less bioavailable to your cat.

Do not be confused by the listing of the protein percentages in dry food compared to canned food. At first glance, it might appear that the dry food has a higher amount of protein than the canned food—but this is not true on a dry matter basis which is the accurate way to compare the two foods. Most canned foods, when figured on a dry matter basis, have more protein than dry food. And remember, even if this were not the case, the percentage numbers do not tell the whole story. It is the protein's bioavailability that is important.
